Union County Warrant RecordsUnion County Warrant Records

Before you act on anything, check Union County warrant records with the office that actually controls the case. That means the issuing court or its clerk, backed up by the sheriff's public feed. A quick lookup often starts online. The hard answer comes from the court. Union County warrant records can live in District Court, Circuit Court, a support or supervision system, or federal court, so no single list covers them all. A blank result does not prove that no warrant exists. Combine the sheriff's feed, the right clerk, and the official docket, then confirm directly before you take the next step.

Union County Warrant Checks

The Union County Sheriff app is the quickest local starting point. Treat its warrant feed as a browse list, though. A certified warrant search it is not. Copy the exact spelling of the name, then note the warrant ID, issue date, age, and offense description. A same-name row could belong to someone else, so never assume it identifies your person, and always follow up through a second channel.

  1. Review the sheriff warrant feed without copying or republishing its roster.
  2. Match the available identifiers cautiously; a warrant ID may not be a court case number.
  3. Call District Court about traffic, ordinance, misdemeanor, or missed-citation matters.
  4. Ask the Circuit Clerk about a Circuit Court case, or locate its docket in Arkansas CourtConnect.
  5. Before appearing, paying, or arranging surrender, ask the issuing court or an attorney what the current order requires.

The Union Sheriff Feed’s Limits

What the feed shows is brief: Warrant ID, Date Issued, Age, Sex, Race, and Offense Description. That is where it stops. The issuing court, case number, bond terms, next hearing, service date, and recall date are all absent, and there is no "active as of" stamp either. Sorting works in the app's official setup. Searching does not. So a missing name only means no matching row is visible; the record could carry a different spelling, sit with another authority, be restricted, or lag behind something the court already did. That makes the feed a lead rather than the final word on a Union County warrant. Call the Union County Sheriff at (870) 864-1970, and call the court named in the case docket, before you rely on what the feed left out.

Warrants in Union County: The Main Types

Under Arkansas Rule of Criminal Procedure 7.1, a judicial officer may issue an arrest warrant on supported reasonable cause, or after a failure to appear on a summons or citation. Search warrants are a different animal. They target places and evidence, with their own return and filing rules. Support and supervision processes carry distinct authorities of their own in Union County.

Warrant typeHow it may arisePrimary route
Arrest warrantA judge finds the required basis in an affidavit, testimony, or documented facts.Issuing court and sheriff
Bench or FTA warrantA required court appearance is missed.District or Circuit Court
Traffic warrantA citation remains unresolved and a required date is missed.Union County District Court
Search warrantA judge authorizes a search or seizure.Filed court record, subject to sealing

Whatever the docket label says controls. A summons, subpoena, protection order, body attachment, or supervision warrant in Union County should never be renamed an arrest warrant.

Union County’s Two Justice Locations

Two locations, two jobs. Keep them straight. The Union County Courthouse at 101 North Washington Street in El Dorado houses the Circuit Clerk, who handles Circuit Court records at (870) 864-1940. The other public justice site is 250 American Road, shared by District Court and the Sheriff. District Court sits in Suite A and answers at (870) 864-1950. The Sheriff's number is (870) 864-1970. Routing follows the paper: traffic citations and failure-to-appear questions go to District Court, while Circuit criminal files run through the Circuit Clerk. The Sheriff can point a county warrant-status question in the right direction. Only the responsible court can explain its current order, though. Call first, offer a case or citation number if you have one, and ask which desk keeps the record.

Union County Warrant Records: What They Show

The sheriff record and the court docket answer different questions. One gives a short operational summary. The other can go deeper. CourtConnect may add case number, filing date, court, case type, party role, events, offenses, and docket entries. An "ARREST WARRANT ISSUED" entry records an event, not a current status. Confirm with the Union County court before acting on it.

Warrant IDA sheriff-feed identifier, not confirmed as the court case number.
Date issuedNot necessarily the post, service, or last-verification date.
Offense descriptionA public label that does not establish guilt or conviction.
Issuing courtNot shown in the sampled feed; locate it through the docket.
Bond and hearingNot published there and always case-specific.
Current statusVerify with the court or Sheriff’s Office.

CourtConnect Adds Union Case Context

Arkansas CourtConnect ties a name or case number to public docket data from participating courts. Search by name, by case number, or with case filters. Use aliases and identity details with care, since different people can share a name. A docket entry there may reveal the filing court and later activity that a short sheriff row never showed. One caution applies. The Arkansas Judiciary warns that online data can contain errors or omissions and is not for official use or legal notice. When you need something certified, ask the clerk for a copy. For the current status, a hearing date, or instructions, call the Union County court directly.

Union County Warrants: Who Issues, Who Serves

Union County Circuit Court is the general-jurisdiction trial court. Union County District Court handles countywide traffic, ordinance, misdemeanor, and preliminary matters. Judges issue the warrants. The Circuit Clerk keeps Circuit Court filings, and the Sheriff serves process while running the public county warrant channel. Each office plays its own part.

Process: judicial officer issues › clerk records the event › law enforcement receives and serves › court records a return, recall, or later disposition.

Union Traffic Citations Need Processing

Patience helps with a new ticket. Per the Sheriff's FAQ, you cannot pay one until the officer turns it in and the court processes it, which takes about three business days. The Arkansas citation query asks for the court, your name, and either citation details or a driver-license or state-ID number with date of birth. A transferred ticket may take up to a week to appear. Some offenses force a court appearance, and the state lists DWI as one example. Miss the payment date and then fail to appear, and an FTA warrant, extra costs, and license suspension may follow. Note that word "may." Paying online does not prove an existing warrant was recalled either. Save the receipt, then ask Union County District Court to confirm the docket update.

Handling a Union County Warrant

Figure out which Union County court issued the warrant and why. District Court handles citations and many local matters. Circuit Court runs its own criminal docket. Child support, supervision, and federal orders each travel a different route, so call the issuing court before you show up. Ask what the judge requires: a hearing, a motion, payment, an attorney, a surrender, proof of compliance, or some other step. Union County publishes no universal clearance form, no preset fee, and no set surrender window. Once you finish the step the court directs, get official proof of it. An updated docket entry, a clerk receipt, or a written recall order all work, because "cleared," "recalled," "quashed," "served," and "closed" are not interchangeable. If you dispute the identity or already paid, gather your receipts and notices first.

Important: Speak with an attorney and the issuing court before arranging an appearance. Public sources do not guarantee release, bond, or an after-hours judge.

No Union County Recall Form

Union County has no countywide recall form, no fixed clearance fee, no online appointment calendar, no amnesty event, and no public bond schedule. Never send money or follow a generic clearance script before you find the issuing court. District Court, Circuit Court, child-support enforcement, post-prison supervision, and the federal courts can each demand a different response. The detention FAQ mentions professional bondsmen and jail deposits, but it creates no warrant surrender protocol. The Sheriff does not recommend a bondsman. Instead, ask Union County officials whether bond is set, whether a lawyer can file a motion, where an appearance happens, and how a recall reaches the jail or the agency serving the warrant.

Warrant Record Access Under Arkansas Law

The Arkansas Freedom of Information Act lets Arkansas citizens request public records during regular business hours, though exemptions apply. A request can take several forms, but it must describe the records clearly enough for the custodian to find them. The Union County Sheriff's instructions send document requests to the office in person, by phone, or by U.S. mail.

Key rules:

Arkansas Code § 25-19-105 opens public records subject to the Act’s limits.

Administrative Order 19 governs Arkansas court-record access.

Arkansas Code § 9-27-309 permits confidentiality for covered juvenile records.

FOIA cannot override a seal, a juvenile rule, protected victim information, or a valid exemption. Ask the right Union County custodian, and give a court, a date range, a record type, or a case reference.

Most Wanted Is Not Union’s Index

Empty pages are not empty dockets. The Sheriff's Most Wanted feature says "Please check back later for updates," and El Dorado Police marks its Most Wanted and Active Warrants features as coming soon. Neither blank tells you Union County has no outstanding warrants. A most-wanted page is a selection, never a complete warrant index. It is also the wrong tool for a personal status check, so do not use the tip form for that. The county form takes information for law enforcement and sends emergencies to 911. Use the sheriff feed and the court for a self-check, and save 911 for immediate danger or a crime in progress.

City Warrant Records in Union County

Under current Arkansas structure, former municipal jurisdiction runs through District Court, though older records may still say "city court." City police, the Union County Sheriff, and the courts each hold their own records as separate custodians. These city guides keep that boundary clear.

El Dorado Warrants

17,756 in 2020; EPD contacts and District Court ticket routing.

Smackover Warrants

1,630; official city police phone and county court fallback.

Norphlet Warrants

766; verify the secondary police listing before visiting.

Junction City Warrants

503; City Hall can route but is not a warrant counter.

Huttig Warrants

448; no official police phone was located.

Special Union Warrant Systems Differ

Federal warrants are different animals. Federal records run through federal courts and agencies, and Union County sits in the Western District of Arkansas, which keeps a courthouse in El Dorado at 101 South Jackson Avenue. PACER offers federal docket access. The U.S. Marshals Service runs its own enforcement channels, and a county list cannot confirm a federal warrant. Child-support enforcement can bring FTA warrants or body attachments. Post-prison supervision rules can authorize violation warrants or notices to appear. Read which authority is printed on the paper, then contact that office rather than treating every custody process as a county arrest warrant.

Union Records Requests Need Focus

Know exactly what you are asking for before you contact any Union County office. A blanket demand for every warrant gets you nowhere. Name the record type, the office, the court, the date range, and the case or citation number. Also note that the Sheriff's public list and the operational file behind it may not be the same record at all. The Union County Circuit Clerk does charge for copies and certifications, but treat those as document fees. They are not warrant-clearance fees, and no one should pay them expecting a warrant to go away. Hours matter too. An app or a jail feed may say open 24 hours, yet records work in Union County still happens during regular office hours. Ask first whether the office actually holds the record. If it does not, ask who does, since restricted records can require a court order or stay unavailable. Aim each Union County request at the right desk: the Sheriff for an operational record or a question about the public feed, the Circuit Clerk for a Circuit Court docket, filing, copy, or certification, and District Court for a citation record. Search-warrant returns and inventories can become court records once filed, though a judge may close or seal them for good cause. An affidavit may not be available remotely. Juvenile files carry added confidentiality rules. State FOIA access changes none of that. Keep a short log of every request: date, office, staff member, case reference, and the next step given. When an office says it lacks custody, ask where the record originated. Written confirmation counts most when an online feed and a docket seem to disagree, because a saved list cannot tell you what the issuing court did after it was saved.
